Every
fortnight after the Infinity Monday show and PPV’s the power rankings of the
top ten stars in Infinity will be posted here. The power rankings are based on
a wrestler’s promo for the week, contributions to Infinity City, and of course
the result of their match and the significance of the match they’re in.
1# James Jameson (+2)
The
Copycat Kid did all in his power to dethrone Neal Powers as Purity Champions,
and following the epic Purity match TCK’s harmony rivals, the Patron Saints,
finally stood between TCK and a first title defence of his own. The four way
match, also involving Jameson’s partner, Jordan Casanova, and a reborn Jamo,
saw Jameson win in a match which personifies how quickly the face of the Purity
division can change on each show. With Jameson pinning TCK after being speared
by a championship hungry Jamo, Jameson became Infinity’s first dual champion,
as his other Infinity character, Joey Harding, is one half of the Harmony
Champions. And the kicker? It will be Harding, and not Jameson, who defends the
big red shield against the Copycat at an Infinite Xmas.
2# Chris Michaels (Non-Mover)
At
Infinity #5, surrounded with concussion troubles, Chris watched partner Adrian
take a beating from their opponents (Taylor Westfall and Murray Muir) for much
of the bout but not only was he the determining factor in victory he delivered
a Legendary Kick to Adrian after the contest had finished. Following a fierce
warning to the World Champion the next opponent was none other than Neal
Powers. Now aligned with the BZN, Neal sought Chris because of the Blood Family’s
despise of the BZN, and the two battled to a grinding halt, with the match
being determined a ‘no contest’ after Neal struck the concussion-recovering
champ with the ring bell, leaving the Singularity floored. With Neal standing tall
and the outcome a deserved draw, Chris remains rooted in second place, and for
his efforts, is now placed above the World Champion himself, Adrian Flynn.
3# Neal Powers (+2)
After
losing the Purity Championship to TCK, one pinfall away from rightfully earning
a World Championship match against Adrian Flynn, many wondered if Neal had the
character to bounce back after his first ever defeat. A phenomenal match with
TCK was followed up with an equally awesome match with the Singularis Champion,
Chris Michaels. Neal and Chris battled back and forth until Neal used the ring
keeper’s bell to smash it over Chris’s head. The No Disqualification match just
ended with no clear winner or loser, meaning a no contest was issued. Neal
stood strong, proving his critics wrong that he can’t stand with the big boys.
Never has the Blood Family looked as strong, especially with Adrian Flynn in
their radar. Next up for Neal is a third straight epic, as he goes one on one
with BZN’s own Mr. Osman inside the Steel Cage. Infinity’s first ever cage
match!
#4 Adrian Flynn (-3)
Infinity’s
World Champion wasn’t at Infinity #6, and it proves in this batch of rankings.
One week out of the game after a vicious attack at his high school, Infinity
Central, sees #SuperChamp drop three places to fourth, dropping below three
worthy title contenders.. With Flynn out of An Infinite Xmas this will
potentially see a further plummet, and many wonder why Adrian would want to
show his face right now giving his first opponent for the World Championship is
Neal Powers, the man who orchestrated a championship match after stealing the
Purity belt from TCK at Infinity #5. Flynn’s future has been laid bare, and the
Blood Family awaits, as does the mystery surrounding his attacker.
5# The Copycat Kid (-2)
Victory
over Neal Powers for the Purity Championship was another reminder of the
Copycat’s obvious in-ring talents and his abilities to mimic even the greatest opponents
on offer. The COO had his talents tested against the Patron Saints and newly
aligned Jamo, with the Grimm Reaper siding with the COO, and in a short and
unpredictable encounter James Jameson shocked the Infinity Arena when he turned
the Purity division on its head, becoming its fourth champion. With TCK’s short
reign his first sign of weakness, the Copycat’s downfall came via a decimating
spear from Jamo, which eventually led to Jameson capitalising on the situation
and covering an unmoving COO. Still impersonating Murray Muir, his statement of
infinite possibilities against Mr. Osman and the BZN, the Copycat slides down
two places in the Power Rankings but fans of the illusive TCK needn’t worry. In
an unprecedented move, TCK has sanctioned a rematch for the big red shield,
something that has never happened with the belt before.
6# Murray Muir (-1)
An apparent union with Taylor
Westfall could not stop Murray Muir falling another place into sixth in these
power rankings. The duo lost to Matt Rydell and Roderick Blackmore, in a match
that they once again dominated. The problem once again was their ability to close
out the match, which led Taylor’s top rope antics to a jaw-breaking moment
which ended in Westfall meeting Roderick’s metal gauntlet face first. With
Murray on the decline, but not having been pinned in either Harmony contest,
the rebel has been granted a Singularis Championship match against Chris
Michaels at an Infinite Xmas, where he will hope to win his first championship
in Infinity Wrestling.
7# Matt Rydell (+1)
“Bad Boy”
Brandon Kheller, Matt Rydell’s harshest critic, has pointed to a lack of
consistency with “The New Dawn” thus far in Infinity. Since it was known that
Matt was fully responsible for his own actions at Immortalis, leaving via
darkness and throwing away the chance at being Purity Champion all because he
doesn’t want to be a puppet champion, Rydell has scored two straight victories.
First over Spike Daniels, and second over Taylor Westfall and Murray Muir,
teaming with Roderick Blackmore, Infinity’s Chairman and the man who is
arguably responsible for spiralling Matt’s popularity in the city out of
control. After Rydell his the New Dawn on Westfall and ensured victory,
Roderick presented Matt with a simple black mask, a symbol that Matt can’t run
from his obvious talents but he can frustrate and send a message to the city’s
companies that he’s not their poster boy.
8# Roderick Blackmore (New Entry)
Infinity’s
Chairman marks his power rankings debut after teaming with Matt Rydell and
helping “The New Dawn” to victory over Taylor Westfall and Murray Muir.
Roderick wasn’t involved a lot in the match but was instrumental in the finish
as he completely decked Westfall with the silver chrome gauntlet the CEO wears.
Roderick’s gift to Matt, a simple black mask, is a gesture to say sorry to Matt
for forcing the city’s vast economic moguls and promoters down Rydell’s throat.
9# Jamo (-1)
Aiding
TCK in his victory over Neal Powers at Infinity #5, the ‘Grimm Reaper’ saw his
loyalty with TCK rewarded in the form of a Purity Championship match. Jamo has
yet to be pinned or submitted in Infinity Wrestling, and that streak continued
when TCK was pinned by James Jameson, the new Purity Champion. The Hardcore
Icon’s full potential has yet to be unearthed and given recent form, it’s only
a matter of time before Jamo scores another victory on his amazing Infinity
record.
10# Leo Stanton (New Entry)
In a
questionable debut Leo Stanton professed his hatred of the city, in a similar
tone that has the likes of Jordan Casanova and Jason Smith raising their
eyebrows rather cautiously. BZN’s personal contracted wrestler made short work
of other debutant Kellen Koufous, after BZN employees and Stanton beat down on
Koufous in the backstage area before the match. Leo has shown great promise and
victory ensures that he narrowly pips Craig Anderson to the tenth place spot on
these rankings.

Falling out of the Power Rankings!
Lucian
Shannon (previous, 9th)
A week of inactivity means by default the Shiner drops
out of the Infinity power rankings. After defeating Jamo in a Mirrors Match,
Lucian re-joined the top ten for the first time since Infinity #1 when he made
it to the semi-finals of the World Championship tournament. Not a part of An
Infinite Xmas, Lucian has promised a return at Infinity #7 heading into
Purgatorium.
Craig
Anderson (previous, 10th)
Showing off his new possession, the WEW Championship,
Craig Anderson was in buoyant mood heading into his encounter with Spike
Daniels. In an odd encounter, Spike, who has professed his friendship to Craig,
held onto Craig when outside of the ring causing a double DQ. Spike claims that
the result was ‘for the best of the team’, hinting that he wants to be Craig’s
partner against the Patron Saints in the future. Jamo ensured that both Spike
and Craig’s night ended on a sour note after taking out Spike and sending a
clear message to The Exception that he should be his partner.
